Nubby's Number Factory (Released on steam on 3/7/25)

Overview of Nubby's Number Factory:

Nubby's Number Factory is a game that features gameplay inspired by the game, "Plinko", where a ball (or in this case, a purple sphere with a face) bounces down a peg board to rack up as many points as possible. NNF is a simple game that I designed to be attention-grabbing, addicting, and replayable. The game can be categorized as a roguelike and it was inspired by the mid-2020s trend of reusing an old/familiar concept (like plink-o) and expanding upon it's simplicity to create a fun experience that is easy to learn and hard to master. If you enjoy fast-paced games, roguelikes, or games with a unique visual style - give Nubby a shot!

Nubby's Development History:

The development of NNF started in August of 2023, beginning almost immediately after I decided to halt the development of my first big project indefinitely (more info down below, see "Dysphoric Soymilk Lidocaine").  Following Nubby's turbulent, yet highly formative first year of development, an early demo for NNF was made publicly available on itch.io in September 2024. A couple months later, I published an improved demo on steam in early November 2024 and spent the next month releasing several updates to it, mostly based on player feedback. Once I was happy with the quality of the demo, I wasted no time and started looking ahead at the next milestone: the official release of the game's full version on steam. Starting in December, 2024, I was doing hardcore work and making good progress on the development of the premium features of the full version of NNF. Though, all was not well at this time because I foolishly thought I was capable of completing and shipping the game by January 10th, 2025 - which is delusional in hindsight because this meant that I only had a single month to essentially double the game's content. Everything ended up working out though, all thanks to the advice of my friend (who is way more experienced than I am in game development) to swallow my pride and accept that I needed to postpone the game's release date to March 7th, 2025. This new release date gave me enough time to make a better game, and also allowed NNF to grow a larger audience by participating in Steam Next Fest in late February, 2025. I truly do not believe NNF would have been as successful if I instead decided to stick with the previous release date in January, rushing the full version's development and releasing the game as an underbaked mess. Either way, we'll fast forward a couple very busy Winter months and... boom! The first version of the game's full release was finally complete, and would shortly thereafter release on steam on March 7, 2025, just as promised.

At this time, I thought the development story of NNF would end once it was released, but that ended up not being the case. To tell a long story short, a few weeks after nubby released I got extremely lucky when NNF miraculously ended up naturally falling into the hands of some very influential people. The following weeks saw the wildfire-like spread of NNF amongst live streamers and youtubers alike. This allowed the game to reach increasingly massive audiences. As a result of this perfect storm, NNF gained a lot of popularity and generated enough revenue for me to feel comfortable with leaving college to pursue professional indie game development as my full time career. This recent change has been very positive for me so far. The success of NNF gave me the motivation to continue providing free content updates throughout the coming months. After the release of the massive v1.4 content update in November of 2025, I decided to put the game's active development on hiatus. The content added to the game in this update completed my vision for what I intended NNF to ultimately become. This will not be the last update to release for the game, and I'd like to eventually revisit the project after a long, and much needed break. Since the release of the v1.4 update, I have moved on from NNF's development and begun work on my next commercial videogame title. After two years of full time work on NNF, it's been refreshing and fun to do something new. No details about this project or it's release date have been publicly announced yet, but I will be sure to update this page of my website once I have done so.

"Dysphoric Soymilk Lidocaine"
(Release date unknown)

Dysphoric Soymilk Lidocaine is a long term project of mine that I've been working on since November of 2022. In DSL you play the role of a therapist in the year 2050. You're tasked with curing an artificially intelligent man's existential depression. This is accomplished by diving into the depths of his robot brain and manipulating his memories.

DSL is a very surreal game and it is a project that I hold very close. While I have other projects that I pour a lot of love into, this one has the most passion and heart put into it by far.
