This page is home to original artwork by yours truly. My artistic interests don't stop at game development, and in fact extend throughout a wide range of traditional art forms.I am a formerly taught artist and I excel at charcoal drawing specifically.I also practice sculpture, painting, ceramics, and music-making.
The artwork that you see on this page is not for sale, nor am I open to any commission work. In my line of work as a game developer, I find it hard to escape the commodified and transactional nature of the craft. I am an artist and I love the process of making games that spread joy, but I unfortunately cannot call game development a reflection of my truest artistic interests. As much as I want to refer to my games solely as art, there's no escaping from the fact that I am creating products to be consumed. I fear that the act of creating itself will eventually stop feeling like an activity that I'm performing for my own enjoyment. Don't get me wrong, I love practicing art through game development. I let myself have fun making games, but ultimately the theme, genre, game mechanics, and design decisions for any game I make tend to be heavily driven by the market and player expectations. That can become exhausting.
This is why I find it so fulfilling to make art for the sake of making art and strictly never selling it. I've decided to publicly display some selected works of mine that I made back in college. I am proud of them, so I figured why not share them?
Thanks for reading this introduction, enjoy my art gallery!
